On Birthday Presents & Turning Thirty

I try to help out my husband every year by giving him wish list ideas for Christmas and my birthday. This year everything seemed to fit into a specific category: exercise clothes, small weights, and a pilates mat.

However, I didn't know it, but Brian had another idea he wasn't letting me in on. He had been educating himself and scouting out a place to buy me a set of these, and both the recession and their being vintage made this idea actually possible:

Getting a classic for one's thirtieth birthday is much better than getting exercise equipment. How depressing would that be?!?

(But to all those who gave me money - thank you! I bought exercise clothes and a pilates mat.)

OOH! Double posting from Mel! Beautiful bling, and a gorgeous "should-be-an-advert" photo. Happy birthday!

Tell Brian I'm impressed. I always knew he would be "a keeper"--but then I am his mom. Your dad is pretty impressive, too!

What a wonderful and thoughtful gift. I don't even remember what I got for my thirtieth, but you'll always remember what your husband gave you.

I think the thirties are a great time in life (I'm now going through my fifties). Enjoy these years!
